Free Tire Pickup

DEP Free Tire Pick Up Days (for residential tire disposal only)

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection sponsors days throughout the year for residents to properly dispose of their scrap tires for free.

DEP Tire Collection Rules

  • Only tires from state residents will be accepted. Please have your WV ID ready when you sign in
  • A 10-tire limit per person will be enforced
  • DEP accepts only private passenger or light truck tires.

Tire Collection Events

Each year, the Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan's Pollution Prevention and Open Dump Program conducts tire collection events across the state. At least one collection event is held in each county. During these events, individuals with proof of WV residency can dispose of 10 tires in a safe way. PPOD is also responsible for the removal of tire piles located across the state.
